Freelancer: Freelance mechanics and electricians work on a Company permit, as opposed to under any guild or union affiliation. Available for private and government hire and required to be self sufficient, many freelancers take a contract with the Company and are assigned a circuit of Company windmills to maintain, collecting a Company paycheck for work completed. Cleopatra: The largest and most densely populated city in the flat lands. Cleopatra is a hub of industry containing a number of machine shops and foundries. However most caravans do not use Cleopatra as a refitting station due to the high costs, and the violently controlled labour unions that make freelance work nearly impossible. Cleopatra is often highly romanticized by outsiders, however immigration is difficult due to competition.

Keha: Far southern coastal town, part of a string of fishing weirs and fish processing factories on the coast. In '61 the town was almost wiped out by a hurricane.

Mac Murdo: Small industrial city along the main route in the flat lands.

Nibroc: A small flat land town mainly concerned with agricultural business. Not a usual stop for freelancers working a wide circuit.

Ritviken: Major mining city in the mountains with a great many machine shops and foundries. A popular refitting station for heavy caravans on a wide circuit. Because of it's remote location and general lawlessness Ritviken is home to many individuals who have needed to "disappear" for various reasons.
