Freelancer: Freelance mechanics and electricians work on a Company permit, as opposed to under any guild or union affiliation. Available for private and government hire and required to be self sufficient, many freelancers take a contract with the Company and are assigned a circuit of Company windmills to maintain, collecting a Company paycheck for work completed. Company circuits are monitored and freelancers caught defrauding their time sheets are severely punished. Freelancers on a Company circuit are allowed to take private work as long as it does not compromise their Company work.
Hoosh: Derived mainly form the ingredients listed by Mal. A staple sledging ration.
Generator: Refers either to an actually electrical generator, or used as slang for a windmill generator.
Leter of Marque: The permit that allows Freelancer workers to work officially under the Company.
Pinwheel: Slang for a windmill generator.
Scab: A term originally used to describe strikebreakers. Used in this context as a derogatory term for any worker either freelance, private or a member of an opposing union or guild interfering with work. No connection to official strikebreaking is implied.
