Well a very happy thanksgiving to all you Americans who read this comic and a very happy weekend to everyone else.
Well it's the christmas season come round again. And once again my life is full of odd cultural anachronisms. I appreciate that christmas celebrations are not bound to any one culture or climate and one should acept that christmas in Hawai'i is not christmas in New England. All in all I especially enjoy adaptations like Santa and Mrs. Calus in aloha shirts and shorts baddly sunburned etc. But there are aspects of christmas tradition that migrated to America via Germany, Germany being more completely cold in the winter than many parts of America. These traditions are at home in the North but rather incongruous in the subtropics and I can't help but find them slightly amusing in context.
Anyway, the christmas trees arived last week. Yep. They ship them over, and it's a big enough deal that their arival actually makes headline news in some papers. I can't help but get a certain mental image at the phrase "They're here!" in refference to christmas tree and this year I had to sketch it.
Anyway, have a happy begining of the holiday season! And get your christmas tree soon, they're not getting any fresher!
Page 13 And of course another page. Personally I perfer drawing women to men, it's easier and more enjoyable, something about the curves. So after drawing so much of the comic with almost no female characters I feel something like I'm comming out of the desert. Not to say I'm not happy with Blue and Mal ;) it just takes a lot longer to draw them :(

NOT GUILTY! Closed WHAT! last night. That's the title of a show BTW. A thuroughly enjoyabel experience all things included. I LIKE rush jobs and last minute fires to be put out. On the other hand the next time one of the directors/performers bails on strike and talk-back I black list 'em I don't care how small a part they have in the mainstage. Next show, Snow Day starting wednesday.
Page 12 Freckles. God I just set myself up for these, freckles will be cool I say then I realize the freckled character reapears latter and I have to repilcate the same look. sigh. Jeanie is rather proud of herself there.

Sorry we're a little late again this week. I'm thinking saturdays are not the best days for updating. After the week I feel I need to take them off completely. We'll be offcially changing to sunday updates, and if I'm early s much the beter.
Well its been an eventful week here in the US. I am not generally politically atuned or active nor even interested. But it occured to me this afternoon that I have spent my entire adult life under a single political regime. It has made me incredibley cynical, and I realized the other day that I have never been proud to be an American before. It will probibly pass, but for just right now, I am. It's about bloody time!
Page 10 I can draw proper perspective! I can! I can! As proven in panel three... No... don't look at panel one! Stop it! Panel three! Panel three!
Well you win some you loose some.
Plot point. Obviously Blue's been through the mill. It doesn't come up as often as perhaps it realisticly should. I know a lot of people who are in physical therapy for life for a variety of different injurys so I do know what I'm talking about. Surgical science is apparently different in my world. That and he's a stuborn idiot who'll walk three miles on a game leg even if he knows better. I never took martial arts and dance classes on a sprain... no... no... not me... you must be thinking of someone else.

Life, one realizes, is a complicated thing. And the fact is, no matter how hard it hits you the chances are it is hitting someone else harder. However that does not make the blow to oneself any less painful. Perspective is a difficult thing to appreciate some times.
Page 9 don't really have much to say on this one. Except that drawing hands may be a pain, but drawing hands missingg finger trumps it.
Page 8 Fire and smoke is so much easier to draw in black and white. I don't know why.
This is the introduction of our antagonists. Regen (with the eye patch) actually looks a lot like a third character from Razor who I merged with Mal's personality to clean things up. I uploaded some sketches from before I cut him. For those of you interested in the design process there wasn't one in this case. Which must me I do these things on a subconcious level. Funnily enough he also looks a lot like this character from Schwarz Kreuz.

Well Oshima Sensei left to return to Japan today. Which means yesterday we had a going away party and going away gift shopping spree. Altogether very pleasent. But time consuming hense the lateness. I got to see Jupiter through a telescope, it has many moons. But then again that's commonly known.
Page 7 The plot thickens. I do like drawing food. Unfortunatly I never know what to put on the table. I guess cheese and bread are always safe bets.

Man it's one thing after another here someone stole my bike!
Page 6 That said there is still a weekly page. thing finally start happening.

Ahhhh! My first late page! I appologize. I have re-entered the relm of the unemployed. Yep, I've been fired. Oh! No! Wait! I mean "let go". Of course it's all for my own good.
*$%@ers
Anyway, this means I wasn't near an internet connection today so no update til now.
Page 5 I don't actually have a lot to say about these early pages. Though I am proud of the texture I've finally started to employ. Now I just need to work on contrast.

The Chinese language is kicking my butt. Litterally all the characters and tone marks beat my door down yesterday and broke my knee caps. It doesn't help that I am similtaniously trying to learn chinese and memorize a number of Utai in Japanese. I think my brain will aspolode!
On the other hand it is finally starting to feel like "winter" here in Hawai'i! Yes that's right! It's raining more often and I can actually sleep at night! In the shade it's bearable!
Page 3 By paying attention to the place names and food consumed in Windmills it becomes rappidly evident that I am a polar exploration geek.
